Kashipithadhishwar Srimad Jagadguru Ramanandacharya
Param Pujya Srimad Jagadguru Anantanand Dwaracharya Kashipithadishwar Swami Dr. Ramkamalacharya Vedantiji Maharaj is a luminary of the ancient Shri Ramanand Sampradaya.
Spiritual lineage and early life
Srimad Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Vedantiji adorns the seat of Param Pujya JagadGuru Dwaracharya and serves as Shri Mahant—the spiritual head and temple president—of Shri Ram Mandir. The temple was established by Swami Ananttanandji more than 725 years ago, and tradition holds that Goswami Tulsidas dwelled there during his studies.
He was born on the auspicious day of Vikram Samvat 2022, Poornima of Paush month, Shukla Paksha—1 January 1965—in Aunta, Uttar Pradesh, also revered as the birthplace of the ancient sage Maharshi Uddalak.
In the virtuous company of his deeply religious mother, the seeds of Vairagya sprouted at the early age of ten. Swami Narharidas Ji, renowned for knowledge, renunciation, and devotion, accepted him as a disciple and gave him Diksha of Vairagya.
Scholarship and spiritual teaching
Srimad Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Vedantiji pursued in-depth study of the Vedas, Puranas, Vedant, Upanishads, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, and Shri Ram Charit Manas in Vrindavan, Chitrakoot, Bhopal, and Varanasi. He earned a postgraduate degree in Nav-Vyakaran and Vedant from Sanskrit University, Varanasi; a postgraduate degree in Hindi from Kashi Vidyapeeth University, an institution founded by Mahatma Gandhi; and a Ph.D. in Sanskrit on Shri Ram Charit Manas from Sanskrit University, Varanasi.
Impressed by his sagacity and profound knowledge, the saint community of Kashi adorned him with the degree of Manas Peethadhiswar at the place where Goswami Tulsidas created his world-famous Vinay Patrika. In 2025, during the Maha Kumbh Mela, he was adorned as Ramanandacharya.
Srimad Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Vedantiji is one of the most prominent orators of Shri Ram Charit Manas, Shrimad Bhagavat Puran, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, and Vedant Darshan.
Humanitarian work
Alongside spreading the light of spiritual knowledge through Ram Katha in India and overseas, and creating harmony across society, Srimad Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Vedantiji is engaged in operating about 35 charitable institutions. Their work advances the upliftment of deprived and destitute people, the protection and preservation of our ecosystem, and the moral and spiritual development of humanity.
